Kim Kardashian Awarded Symbolic €1 in Paris Robbery Case

Kim Kardashian has been awarded just €1 in damages by a Paris court following the armed robbery she suffered nearly a decade ago. The seemingly unusual amount was exactly what Kardashian had requested, as she said the case was about recognition and accountability rather than financial compensation.

The robbery took place in October 2016 during Paris Fashion Week. Kardashian was staying at a private residence in Paris when several men disguised as police officers entered, restrained her at gunpoint and stole millions of dollars’ worth of jewelry. Much of the stolen jewelry has never been recovered.

The incident became one of the most widely reported celebrity robberies of the decade and had a lasting emotional impact on Kardashian. During the subsequent legal proceedings, she described the experience as deeply traumatic.

The court’s ruling came after eight people were convicted in connection with the robbery. Kardashian’s stylist, Simone Harouche, who was also present during the incident, was awarded the same symbolic amount of €1.

Other parties involved in the case received substantially larger compensation. The hotel’s receptionist, who also reported suffering trauma, was awarded more than €109,000, while the hotel itself received €50,000.

For Kardashian, however, the symbolic one-euro award represented something different from a traditional financial settlement. The reality star has emphasized that she wanted the court process to acknowledge what happened to her and provide a sense of accountability.

Almost ten years after the shocking incident, the ruling brings another chapter of the long-running Paris robbery case to a close.
