Hungary’s pioneer of daytime party culture kicks off the season with a jubilee event: in collaboration with CityMatiné and Keinemusik, &ME will perform on Hajógyári Island, where nature, music, and community come together.
There is one day every spring when Budapest shifts its rhythm. When the city turns outward, concrete gives way to grass and trees, and music is no longer confined to indoor spaces but flows in the sunlight. This day is May 1, when CityMatiné returns to the Golftanya on Hajógyári Island opening one of the most important chapters in its 15 year history, according to the organizers’ press release.
By now, CityMatiné has become a defining platform of Hungary’s daytime electronic music culture. It offers a shared community experience where the focus is not only on music, but also on the feeling of freedom, the closeness of nature, and the moments experienced together.
The jubilee event is realized through a special collaboration: &ME, one of the founding members of the Berlin based Keinemusik collective, is coming to Budapest. Known as a key figure on the international electronic music scene, the DJ and producer creates music that is both energetic and subtly progressive perfectly suited to the daytime arc of CityMatiné.
Programs from afternoon to sunset
On May 1, the Golftanya will transform into a shared meeting point for a single day. The program runs from afternoon until sunset. In addition to the musical journey, daytime activities will once again play a prominent role: under the shade of willow trees, mat Pilates sessions will welcome those seeking a slower, more inward focused start, while the Baby Rave team will provide playful, music filled experiences for the youngest visitors.
The Marte creative studio will host arts and crafts workshops, making visual creation part of the day. A fortune teller and a photo booth will also be present small experiences that add a more personal touch to the event.
The celebration will attract not only a local audience: on May 1, visitors are expected from all over the world. This year, the event has become a meeting point capable of engaging an international crowd something that is both a source of pride and a serious responsibility for the organizers. Through the Keinemusik collaboration and &ME’s performance, Budapest will become part of the global electronic music circuit for one special evening.
