If You Could Buy More Time

Imagine a future where scientists invent a pill that adds one healthy year to your life. The catch? Each pill costs one million dollars.

The wealthy could live for centuries, while poorer people would continue to have normal lifespans. Society would change dramatically. Would long life become a luxury instead of a human experience shared by everyone? Would governments regulate the pills, or would the free market decide who gets to live longer?

There is another question as well. If you knew you could live for 300 years, would you value each day as much as you do now? Sometimes, the fact that life is limited gives it meaning. Without limits, would we still chase our dreams, or would we endlessly postpone them?

Perhaps the greatest value of time is not how much we have, but how wisely we choose to spend it.
