ByeAlex Fined During Dealers’ Trial – Judge Rejected His X-Factor Excuse

ByeAlex failed to appear at the court hearing where singer Tóth Andi gave testimony in the drug dealers’ case. The singer had also been summoned as a witness in the drug trial, but through his legal representative he submitted a request to be excused from attending. The request cited his involvement with X-Factor. However, the judge rejected it and imposed a significant fine on the singer.

As previously reported, the criminal trial involving four defendants accused of drug trafficking continued on Monday at the Metropolitan Court. Witnesses summoned for the hearing included Tóth Andi winner of X-Factor 2014 and later mentor on the show as well as singer ByeAlex, who is returning to the talent show’s judging panel this year.

Alex Márta, known professionally as ByeAlex, submitted a request through his lawyer asking to be excused from Monday’s court hearing. According to the request, the singer was unable to attend the May 18 hearing because he was participating in the filming of X-Factor. The explanation stated that his absence from the recording would have breached his contract and disrupted production.

The judge rejected the request and decided to fine ByeAlex 100,000 forints.

The trial will continue in the autumn with the questioning of additional witnesses.
