Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Andrii Sybiha both thanked the Hungarian government after Transcarpathia suffered the largest drone attack since the outbreak of the Russian–Ukrainian war on Wednesday: impacts were reported in Svaliava, Mukachevo, and Uzhhorod as well. Prime Minister Péter Magyar, on behalf of the government, condemned the “attack against Hungarian populated areas,” while Foreign Minister Anita Orbán summoned Russia’s ambassador to Budapest on Thursday morning. The Ukrainian president emphasized that Moscow poses a common threat not only to Ukraine, but to all of Europe.
Both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha reacted to the statements of the new Hungarian government, expressing their gratitude. The Ukrainian president said it was important that Péter Magyar had condemned the Russian attack.
“Moscow has once again proven that it represents a common threat not only to Ukraine, but also to neighboring countries and all of Europe. The attack is still ongoing. The first missiles have already been launched,” he said.
He added that our common position “is of decisive importance in ending this brutal war. Thank you for your compassion and firm stance.”
Andrii Sybiha: We must stop this terror through joint action
Ukraine’s foreign minister also thanked Hungary for its “swift and decisive response” to the Russian attacks. Sybiha stressed that Ukraine had to face “another massive attack.”
“We must stop this terror through joint action so that all of Europe can remain safe,” he emphasized, adding that they are seizing every opportunity to achieve a lasting peace.
