According to Péter Magyar, Viktor Orbán is preparing for a serious move regarding the state treasury.
The Tisza government held its first meeting in Ópusztaszer.
The Tisza government, which began operating on Wednesday, held its very first cabinet meeting later that same day, May 13. Prime Minister Péter Magyar announced the previous evening on social media that the first meeting would take place in Ópusztaszer. The location carried symbolic significance, but the decisions announced after the meeting were said to be very real.
As previously reported, on the evening the new government was formed and the new ministers took their oath, Prime Minister Péter Magyar announced on Facebook that the off site cabinet meeting would be held there partly for symbolic reasons and partly because of the extraordinary drought situation. Before the official meeting, the ministers consulted water management and agricultural experts to assess the current conditions. On this topic, Minister of Science and Technology Zoltán Tanács also shared a more detailed post before the meeting.
Because of this consultation, Péter Magyar and the ministers arrived half an hour late to the cabinet meeting scheduled for 3 p.m.
During the meeting itself, Foreign Minister Anita Orbán appeared in a Facebook video regarding the drone attack that had struck Transcarpathia. According to the announcement, the attack was also added to the government meeting’s agenda.
The press conference following the cabinet meeting had originally been scheduled for 5 p.m., with Prime Minister Péter Magyar and government spokespersons Vanda Szondi, Éva Magyar, and Anita Köböl participating, but it eventually started with a significant delay.
